SALESFORCE & AgCRM

AgCRM is built on the Salesforce Platform. AgCRM is a managed package and is built and compiled by Commodity Trading Solutions (CTS) for deployment to Salesforce.
Salesforce is a world leader in CRM technology and cloud-based server computing. Salesforce provides for a full suite of standard applications targeted to various industries worldwide. These standard applications can be used in conjunction with AgCRM Apps or as completely separate functions.
In addition, Salesforce provides for a large eco-system of additional third-party apps that can be downloaded (free or for a license) and imported into a Target Salesforce Organisation (database) for use with the standard Salesforce functionality as well as the targetted specific features of AgCRM.
Together, the combination of the Salesforce platform, AgCRM and the thousands of available applications to install in Salesforce create a very rich suite of software functionality.
Standard Salesforce features change over time depending on the Salesforce License Version chosen as well as the new features deployed by Salesforce. Standard features include Accounts, Contacts, Leads, Cases, Opportunities, Contracts, Orders, Chatter to name a few.
AgCRM only uses the Accounts and Contacts standard objects of Salesforce. This is to enable the security features of Communities and create web portals for third party login.
The main administration license required for AgCRM purposes to run all compiled features is the Enterprise version. In addition, clients can use the various Platform and Community licenses based on the Salesforce licensing regime - See related links to Licenses. AgCRM is designed around Custom Objects which are deployed as part of the installation process. These custom objects are linked via Apps (friendly desktop menus that group menus together for easy navigation). Each App targets various Users in the company, for example:
  • Buyer/Origination Users
  • Trade Users
  • Backoffice/Operations Users
  • System Admin Users

Introduction to Customising Salesforce Salesforce offers the opportunity to customize your experience by allowing users to create their own menus / Reports & Dashboards and Listviews to navigate data in Salesforce. There are many courses and tutorials available on-line for creating standard reports and dashboards - see links to Trailhead.
Reports and Dashboards can be created, stored in folders and securitised for Edit/Manage and View only options based on the Sharing settings on reports.
